Hello...Lego!

I now have new appreciation for Lego's (although stepping on them and finding them embedded in my shag carpet is still not enjoyable):

In my next home...

Wouldn't this be worth working into your kitchen plans?

A garbage and recycling chute that goes to bins in the garage!  I think these should be incorporated into every home plan, don't you?

Wedding gown bedding

So I'm walking through Homesense, planning to just head to the checkout to purchase the gift cards I need (because I was just there a few weeks ago and I really don't need anything....you know) and my feet lead me down the bedding isle and well, there they are:

(A photo of the picture on the bag).  And.....

(That's my kitchen table under the photo.  Yes, both sets came home with me.)

Then it was dilemma time.  I loved them both!  I have to say, I've always been an all-white bedding fan and I thought I'd always be happy with my down duvet with a great white cover set.  But after seeing a similar gathered comforter (the second one) in a Style at Home a few months back, I fell in love with the rippled texture and billowy softness.  Surprising with my taste being more modern contemporary.

So after spreading them out on my bed and laying underneath each (had to check the warmth factor), I decided on the second one.  For $89 (the first was on sale for $69!), I said, um...yes.  (Not crazy about the small matching toss cushions that came with it (the big pillows and the sequined ones weren't included) so they may have to go bye bye.)

And that is why you should not enter your stores when you're not looking for anything in particular.  Stick to only going when you ARE looking for something since you know you won't find it.  And there goes all the fun...

Ooh la lamps

Milton Table Lamp - Yellow
Loving this lamp at Urban Barn....and loving the price!  I see one on each end of my white sideboard, a great painting in the middle.  It also comes in sage green but my heart belongs to the yellow!

Here it is

Well here's the ring.  After twenty years, my man noticed I fell in love with a ring (and he knows I'm not a jewellry person - my wedding rings are all that I wear).  It has become my new wedding set.  Do I feel a slight tinge of guilt for not wearing my original set.  Yes.  But he knows I'm not really a sentimental person (but I'll still keepi my original).  He knows my tastes have changed.  He said he always wanted to get me something bigger that I really loved.

Yes, it's not a diamond - it's an aquamarine.  Here's the reasons I love this ring:
1.  Aquamarine - my most favorite color in the world and the color of the water at the most beautiful beach in my dreams (someday the two of us will go there)
2. Pear shaped - I'm in love with this shape.  It's different and eye catching to me.
3. All diamonds - I love just seeing diamonds, no metal.....that's just me.
4. AFFORDABLE!  Ok...the aquamarine ring - Costco (approx. $470)...the diamond wedding band - People's (re-furbished jewellry $190).  Hey, neither of us believe in buying on credit.  It's paid in full or not bought at all.  After all, I want to be able to spend on furnishings and home decor.
5.  Trending.  Not that I really care about trends, but more and more people are choosing stones other than diamonds.  And if someone still has a problem with it - I say 'who cares I love it'.

Got a ring story?  I'd love to hear it.
